Course Overview

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR/AED & First Aid is geared towards lay responders with little or no medical training who want/need training for their job, a specific AHA requirement, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. This course is appropriate for everyone who wants to learn life saving skills!

Course Curriculum

In this course, participants will learn:

  • What to do if someone is choking
  • How to perform high-quality chest compressions
  • Early use of an AED
  • Basic cleaning, bandaging, & splinting of injuries
  • We’ll also discuss early recognition of stroke, seizures, blood sugar issues, and environmental emergencies

Training Format

This course requires in-person, hands-on activities.  AHA does offer a blended option with online modules.  Once modules are complete, STS may assist with the in-person hands-on session in order to complete certification.  HERE is the link to AHA Heartsaver online modules.
